Multinational home improvement organization pays $65,000 to settle sexual harassment claim

An American multinational home improvement retail corporation that sells tools and construction products has agreed to pay $65,000 to a former employee after investigators from Minnesota found the company failed to stop ongoing sexual harassment at one of its stores.

The Minnesota Department of Human Rights identified “probable cause” that a female employee was sexually harassed numerous times over three years by male co-workers.

The worker who filed the discrimination charge worked at the store from September 2017 through August 2021. She is in her late 40s, but her name was not published.

It’s disturbing to hear about ongoing harassment and good that the Minnesota Department of Human Rights found probable cause to address it;. Hopefully this settlement sends a clear message to other companies.
